AFRICAN PORTUGUESE -SPEAKING COMMUNITY

To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with APSC’s families in and around London areas and all the regions in the UK that have a strong presence of the African Portuguese Speaking Communities to relieve the needs and assist them to integrate into society, in particular:

 

  1. Providing a local network group that encourages and enables the APSC families to participate more effectively with the wider community;

  2. Increasing and coordinating opportunities for APSCs to engage with services providers, to enable those providers to adapt services to better meet the needs of APSCs;

 

To promote social inclusion for the public benefit among APSCs who are non-English speakers and are social excluded on the grounds of their social and economic position, by providing:

 

  1. Education and training in the English language and in vocational skills;

  2. Social and recreation facilities and events involving the local communities.
     

To advance the culture and promote the interest of African Portuguese Speaking Communities living in the UK, on matters concerning culture, education, economic, and the social and community life in the UK.
 

To develop trust and good communications with Amigo History Month Social Enterprise board members, by providing a forum for two-way dialogue; to help Amigo History Month shape and draft communications to other Spanish/Portuguese and African Portuguese leaders.
 

To develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially disadvantaged communities in UK in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society.
 

To ensure involvement in the improvement racial harmony for the community benefit by promoting knowledge and mutual understanding between different racial groups.
